Supported TV Brands
TVBuddy supports the following Smart TV platforms:
Samsung TV Note
Some Samsung TVs require manual approval. After selecting your TV in the app:
1. A connection request appears on your TV screen
2. Use your TV remote to press **Allow**
Without approval, the connection cannot be completed.
Compatibility Note
If your TV brand is not listed, it may not be compatible with TVBuddy. Hisense TVs are supported only when using a Fire Stick or another supported operating system.
Troubleshooting
If your TV is not appearing in the app, check the following:
Wi-Fi Network
Phone and TV must be on the same Wi-Fi network.
VPN Settings
VPN must be disabled for device discovery.
Power Status
TV must be fully powered ON, not in standby.
Guest Networks
Guest Wi-Fi may block discovery protocols.

1. How do I connect TVBuddy to my TV?
Connecting is quick and simple.
- Make sure your phone and TV are on the same Wi-Fi network
- Open the TVBuddy app
- Select your TV from the device list
- Approve the connection on your TV if prompted
Once connected, your phone will start working as a remote.
2. Why can't TVBuddy find my TV?
This usually happens when one of the connection requirements is not met. Please check the following:
- Your phone and TV are on the same Wi-Fi network
- VPN is turned off on your phone
- Your TV is fully powered ON (not standby)
- You are not using a guest Wi-Fi network
After checking these, refresh the device list in the app.
3. Can I cast photos, videos, or music to my TV?
Yes. TVBuddy allows you to cast media from your phone to your TV.
To start casting:
- Connect your TV in the app
- Tap the Cast button
- Choose Photos, Videos, or Music
- Select your file
The media will start playing on your TV.
4. Why do some playback controls not work on my TV?
Playback controls depend on the TV platform. Some TVs only support basic controls such as Play, Pause, and Stop.
Features like forward or rewind may not be available due to limitations of the TV platform.
